Guest guest
Ethan got his DOCband yesterday, and he didn't even seem to notice that anthing was different. We ended up taking it off half-way through the night, because he had a tough time falling back to sleep, but considering he didn't get the band until 3pm yesterday, he did great. (We also had a really long day and he was probably very overtired, which may have caused the sleep problem at night.) Anyways, I'm so excited treatment has finally begun and that Ethan is handling his new gear so well. Having gone through unsuccessful repo and now banding, I know I'm doing the right thing. Guest guest
Edina, That is so awesome!!! Remeber the number one sleep problem at the beginning is overheating. Dress him lightly(very lightly) at bedtime and throughout the day, this helps keep the sweating to a minimum and helps them stay asleep longer. How are the skin checks going, any other problems or questions? CAROLG > Ethan got his DOCband yesterday, and he didn't even seem to notice that > anthing was different. Guest guest
We are trying to keep him nice and cool, and so far he doesn't seem to be sweating much. We've had a very hot summer, but we're lucky that it's now getting cooler as he starts wearing his band. Skin checks are fine, only very light red spots that disappear quickly. His first nap today wasn't so great; he woke up crying after 35 mins. (He has been a very good sleeper, so this is unusual.) I'm guessing sleep will be a bit rougher for him for the first few days, but hopefully he'll adjust. When he's awake, the band doesn't seem to bother him at all. In general, how long does it take for babies to adjust to the band for sleeping? Edina > Edina, > That is so awesome!!! Remeber the number one sleep problem at the > beginning is overheating. Guest guest
Edina, Most will be back at normal schedules and duration by a week. Sounds like Ethan will do just fine. I am so happy for you that things are going so smoothly and now you can just wait for the correction to begin. Guest guest
Congrats on your newly banded baby!! Sounds like he'll do fine in it. He'll be sleeping well within the week. Post some pics of him in hes band when you get a chance. I'd love to see how cute he is!
