Guest guest
I was given Claritan about 2 months ago for a sinus infection. Turns out it decreased my supply. I called my doc and told him and he said it was because of the antihistamines in it. he forgot I was breastfeeding and gave it to me by mistake. If I were you I would call your LLL leader and make sure before you take anymore of it. It seems like I just got over the Celexa deal and now this. lol I will try to just take it to get me over this flare up. Hopefully that will be all I would need. W. Our 4th Boy!! Guest guest
, sorry to hear about your pink eye. I hope you recover quickly. I checked Hale for the Claritin and although it does have a very long half life (hangs around in the body for a long time) it states that there are pediatric formulas and that the baby only gets .01% of the dose which is very little. I wouldn't worry about the medication but just make sure your baby doesn't get too sleepy from it. I grew up with horses. I am jealous, I wish I could house one. Getting one from a rescue is a great idea. Saving a horse is a great deed to do! Have fun with it. Wishing you clear eyes quickly! Wendi http://www.lactivist.com breastfeeding info & resources Nick and W. Well I went to the Dr. today and I indeed have pink eye in BOTH eyes now. Yuck! I wore my sunglasses into the waiting room. LOL I was really embarressed. The nurse gave me some drops. Hope they clear this up quickly. She think it is coming from an allergy since I have this sore throat, runny nose and itchy watery eyes. She gave me some Claritan and said that it is safe to take while BFing. I sure hope so. I was never the type to even take Tylenol now here I am getting ALL doped up. lol I had the assistant weigh Nick since we were there. He is now 13 1/2 pounds. He gained 1 pound in a week! He was 9'10 at birth. He is already outgrowing his 6-9 months clothes! IF his cheeks get any fatter, they look like they will explode! lol We are looking into getting a horse again. There are several rescue and adoption places close to here. I have talked with a couple of the places and we just need to fill out some forms. I never dreampt that horses were a throw away animal. I knew dogs were since I have been involded in Dalmatian rescue but HORSES?!?! W. Our 4th Boy!! Isaac 4/10/00 W. Our 4th Boy!! Guest guest
<<. She gave me some Claritan and said that it is safe to take while BFing. >> Claritin alone should be OK. The Claritin-D has a decongestant which might decrease supply. Jenn
