Guest guest
Carol I take oxycontin twice daily and have found great relief from it. I know some that haven't and have had to go to stronger drugs and if my tolerence gets past a certain point I may have to change too. But, I hope this is in the distant future. My pain doc told me to take the oxycontin on a regular basis to get the best relief. I have oxy IR for breakthru pain. Is your doc afraid to put you on the oxy on a regular basis?? It seems you are getting a lot of tylenol in the tylox and that is one of the main reasons pain specialists use the oxycontin so much. (To avoid the large doses of tylenol.) Because of my Ankylosing Spondylitis I take an NSAID (arthrotec) daily so I can't take the Ibuprofen with the oxy. I do occasionally take tylenol, though. I hope this helps with your question. If you have more don't hesitate to ask. If I can't answer them, perhaps someone else on the list can. Love Patti

Guest guest
Oxycontin is not really new but it is a very good pain medication. It did not work for me but I am sensitive to a lot of medications. I take MS contin which is like oxycontin taken every 12 hours. They are both time release medications. Take care, Irene > > I went into my GP today to talk pain meds, and he told me to stay on the > Tylox, but on the days when I get really bad, (that would have been > yesterday), to try Oxycontin, along with 800 mg of Ibuprofen. Guest guest
Irene, I don't think I phrased my subject line very well. I meant that the pain med Oxycontin was new to me, not new as in a new drug on the market. Sorry about the confusion! Guest guest
That is OK. We can both blame it on fibro fog. Take care, Irene > . Sorry > about the confusion! > >
