Hi Retta,

Yes, me!!! I was on 9 different meds 4 asthma, 1 thyroid, 1 BP, 1 pain [oxy:] 1 digestive, 1 bladder and of course the sleep stuff when needed. Stopped them all when I started seeing a naturopath and she put me on a cleansing and now on a 9 month course to see if that will straighten out the thyroid, and on adrenal meds and vits & minerals. How do I feel???? The best that I have felt in 20 years. If I have to take adrenal and thyroid [natural only] for the rest of my life then that will be OK as I am no longer gasping for breath when I walk up stairs or just about get 100 yds and have to stop to get my breath. My bladder is no longer the prob it used to be which was awful, I am sleeping well and waking refreshed and she also changed my diet which when I stick to it I feel good on. I do go off on occassion and suffer for it. Not sure how much weight I have lost but jeans are starting to slide down, and

my family notice it so it must be a reasonable amount, but that is not the main thing it is in the feeling great. I realize that this will not work for those that have no thyroid or one that is severly compromised but for those that aren't there can be a good outcome, I am looking to have the best.

I sure hope that you'll keep us posted on this Dawn... which ever direction it turns for you.... it may not be that this method will help a LOT of folks.. but it only takes helping one person to make the effort of sharing a story worth it, don't you think?

Something like this can happen if the person is in a Hashi hyper swing.... Feeling better and dropping the replacement hormone and then the hyper state continuing and causing a loss it weight....

That's why we are always asking for a diagnosis and not settling for just the word 'hypothyroid', or 'hyperthyroid', we want to know if antibodies are testing and if the individual is dealing with antibodies and should be on the look out for swings or changes in gland function.

Again... another reason why charting and diaries are such a great thing to have... to be able to SEE what your body is doing and realize if there is a change in function....

I will keep you posted as what can come of just one taking a different road can be of help to others even if just to give hope that there are things that can change lives. Somewhere in my journey there could be a way for others too.

BTW I missed a pill and it was for the dizzies so that was 10 in all. Oh well!! I am blonde too.

See, here's an example of where a talk with a pharmacit can be a big

help - for example, what if the BP med is a beta-antagonist and one of

those asthma meds is a beta-agonist. I suppose then it would

balance,eh? (joke - gotta keep your sense of humor). Sounds like

you're better out of all that, though.

It all depends on the pharmasist that you have. Last time I talked to my pharmasist with regards to hypothyroid his comments to me were "it's not rocket science".

See, here's an example of where a talk with a pharmacit can be a bighelp - for example, what if the BP med is a beta-antagonist and one ofthose asthma meds is a beta-agonist. I suppose then it wouldbalance,eh? (joke - gotta keep your sense of humor). Can you explain a little more how those beta blockers work???????

ARe they all necular recptor specific???????? I just read a new anti

arrythmic drug today that is androgenic specific, hope you understand

my question, do they not allow for dimerazation therefore leaveing

the beta receptors unable to express, do the alpha blockers work in

the same fashion??????

Yep, taking a different road... or just having another set of eyes to look at something can sometime give a spark of an idea.... remember, that's how I stopped my chronic pain... just a simple comment made by someone that heard my story.....

.... for those that are not familiar... I have no thyroid function (I was given RAI to stop thyroid storm) and after years and years on synthetics switched to natural thyroid and all kinds of symptoms dissipate.. but the chronic pain, especially the waking level, still wasn't clearing up.... someone suggested that perhaps my system didn't have enough hormone to get me through the night and my body was not able to sleep deeply and do repairs.... so... what would happen if I changed my dosing schedule so that I was taking my last dose as I went to bed....

I slept like a baby that very first night and woke with ZERO pain... just by adjusting the timing..
