A word of caution here, do not under any circumstances just stop Prednisone.

It is imperative that the body be slowly weaned off Prednisone. It can have

very detrimental effects to just stop the meds like that. Please do not every

just stop any meds without the consultation and supervision of your doctor.

It can also be very harmful to just stop some blood pressure medications too

by the way, but it is especially important with Prednisone.

I just want to emphasise what said. You are really taking chances when

you play around with taking or not taking medications on your own. There can

be many problems associated with that that you're just not aware of. If you

don't want to take something, tell your doctor. Don't just stop taking it.

People have died stopping prednisone without a controlled taper. When you

take prednisone, production of your natural corticosteroids by your adrenal

glands becomes suppressed. When you stop prednisone too suddenly, the

adrenals can't start up again fast enough. Death can be the result.
