Guest guest
, What were his starting numbers, do you know and have they measured again? Sometimes seeing the numbers helps you know how much correction there really has been. I know that some moms have posted about continued rounding after the band. Dominick has a second band, but he was still at 17mm or something and his ears are still at 11mm after band one, so we had no choice. CT is usually prety good about knowing if they need a second band or not. Make sure you are not just seeing his head through " mommy eyes " ,lol. Ask somone who hasn't seen him in a while to look. Most of our babies unfortunately will never have perfectly round heads, and it's hard to stop scrutinizing them. Maybe post a picture from the top of his head and get some opinions. Just throwing things out to you, I hope some of this helps. CarolG > My son is 7 months old and has been in his doc band now for approx. 3 > months. Guest guest
Carol -- thanks so much for the advice. I don't know what his numbers were or are but I will ask. I agree, it is hard not to look at them -- and every other child now -- with " mommy eyes " looking for perfect roundness. If I can get my hands on a digital camers, I will take and submit photos. Guest guest
Hi, It really does depend on a few things. My baby had more than one band. What is your ortho saying? > My son is 7 months old and has been in his doc band now for approx. 3 > months. This band is scheduled to come of in 1 week and 2 days. Guest guest
Hello , I see that the others gave you excellent responses and couldn't agree more. You are so fortunate to have had your son banded at such a nice young age; I'll bet he did receive some great correction. Every child is different but I would think he still has lots of growth and changing to do. It would be important to keep up any repositioning efforts after the band comes off. From what I hear, I too would trust CT's opinion (although I don't have personal experience). I would love to see pics as well! If this helps you at all, my son wore a band from 9-12 mos. old and he did have *some* post-band rounding (pics in before & after/STARband/Colin F.). He's still has some flatness but I really don't think non-plagio police notice it *at all*. Even for a first band it can be up to the parents if you want to get one so I will support you with whatever you decide to do. Sue Colin F., 19 mos. Guest guest
I spoke with my craniofacial surgeon's assistant and she said that I should trust whatever Cranial Tech. advises. She also said that some areas are not responsive to the band and that is the way it will always be. > > My son is 7 months old and has been in his doc band now for approx. 3 > > months.
