Guest guest
I too have problems with my feet swelling. In fact right now my left foot and ankle are swollen double their normal size. The last time this happened the doc put me on lasix which does not help much. I think in some way it is related to the hot, humid weather. Anyone had any success in stopping the swelling? Guest guest
abraxis3@... Hi Patti, For me, what has helped me a lot with the swelling, was giving up pop and caffeine! The carbonation in pop causes swelling, in and of itself. Caffeine, is hard for the body to rid itself of...even tho' it makes you go to the bathroom a lot, the toxins that need to be released aren't, instead, it causes swelling. Also, keep your feet elevated as much as possible. Cucumber skins are a great diaretic! Drink 'loads' of water to help wash out the toxins. Get a good electric massager and massage your whole body, slowly and gently. It frightened me the first time, because I felt like a 'giant bruise' all of my life, and it did feel somewhat uncomfortable, at first, but it went away, and now people can touch me without me flinching. It's like a miracle! Now, it's a really 'good' massager. You're worth it! You'll be 'amazed' at the results! Be good to yourself in your 'thoughts' and 'actions'. That means your inner chat becomes 'loving' and 'totally accepting' of yourself at 'all' times. Learn to meditate, and I guarantee you will see a change in your body! I know that some people here think I'm a little 'crazy', because I speak so much about the importance of our 'thoughts' creating our realities. But I'm not the same person I was just a few months ago! I read 'Conversations with God'...truly got the message...and I'm not experiencing the pain that I was and am doing things I couldn't do for so long! I no longer say, " I have " (unless it's something I want), " I no longer say " I can't " , " I should or should have " , etc. I call these 'killer words', and I've learned my thoughts are 'powerful'. Not simply because someone told me so, but because I took this seriously and tested it for myself! It's teaching me the real meaning of truly 'loving myself'. Another great book that has helped me here is " The Power is Within You " , by Louise L. Hay. I've read several books in the last six years, and these have helped me the most! This is so wonderful that I have a need to share it with everyone I can...because I've been there!!!! I'm not sure if I welcomed you to the group. There have been so many new people lately, and I've been trying to keep up with my e-mails on a limited use of the computer. So, if I didn't...WELCOME!!! There are so many wonderful people here, and now you're one of them! Love, Sue --- AngelbabyHG@... wrote: > I too have problems with my feet swelling. Guest guest
Sue Thank you for the advice. I knew about the caffeine, and I don't drink coffee, soft drinks with caffeine, eat chocolate, etc., but I never thought about the bubbly drinks. I do drink a lot of Sprite. I will try staying off that for a while. Also, the suggestions about massage, etc are other things I will try. You are so sweet to write me with all these ideas. Thanks for the welcome, although a little belated (about 3 months), but I appreciate it anyway. Hope you are having a great day. Guest guest
Not me. I haven't seen my ankles in a while. It's like when you are pregnant, you know that ankles are there but you just can't seem to find them. Take care, Irene > Anyone had any success in stopping the > swelling? >

I have awful swelling in my left foot and ankle. The only thing that takes mine away is to lie down with the foot elevated, but then an hour later it's back. My doctor does not believe in diaretics. It feels so strange to have a swollen foot. Also for those of you that knew I had surgery on Thursday for the nerve damage in my arm. I don't know if the surgery was a sucess yet. My hand is still numb and swollen, but it's only been a day. I am typing with one hand. My mom came to help and she's having a fit that I'm on the computer. Take Care Kathy D. Guest guest
You folks are too much with your feet business. As I read the email, I look down, only to remember that I painted my toe nails with flourescent orange to Fuschia mood nail polish. That is to ensure that I know my feet are there. My feet also swell. That is where the mood polish comes in. I was unfortunate enough to have a neurosurgeon who was ignorant to 99% of my symptoms. I kept insisting that my foot would get numb and cold, which my husband verified. He as much as told me I was crazy. So, the mood polish changes color with the heat of your body. I would take pictures of my toes with the polish and drag them with me to the neurosurgeon. My toenails would be two different colors. I guess it kind of grew on me, and I wear it all of the time now to amuse myself. Have fun! Missy
