Guest guest
, I take amitriptyline along with Trofranil and Clozapam at night before going to sleep. I all so take 30 to 60 mgs of morphine for pain. Even with all of that I still at times have a hard time sleeping because of pain. I gather from my husband that he can tell when I am in pain even though asleep, I make sounds of pain. As for NSAIDS, I don't know anything about its effect on pain. I know that it is good for inflammation. I can't take NSAIDS. They make my tinnitus worse. > Thanks for your response. Elatrolet is Amitriptyline HCL (10mg). The rheumatologist told me to come back in a month. I am in the US and my rheumatologist does my pain management. I do not see my family doctor for anything but to take blood samples and my rheumy does that most of the time anyhow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I work on a computer and continue to work (except for about the first week of this) and I'm having trouble with very fine mouse movements. I had one pain-free day, last Sunday, but the pain got progressively stronger throughout the rest of the week. I went to find out about " natural medicine " and they are supposed to get back to me at the beginning of this week. Has anyone had success with this? You do not take anything for pain? I believe that some have had good luck with " natural Medicine. " I imagine that they will answer and let you know what they took and how it works. Take care, Irene ``
Guest guest
, I take the Amitriptlyine, and it took me almost a week and a half before I got used to the drowsiness. Now it's not bad. I try to take it at around 8:30 or 9:00, then about 1/2 hour later, I'm drowsy, and go to bed. Now I wake up at 5:30 or 6:00, well rested. It's the first time I've been able to really get a good night's rest in many months. I'd try it for a few weeks, then see what happens. Apparently, as I was told, it takes awhile for you to tolerate it, and not feel like you are in another world for most of the day! Hope this helps!, Carol Irene, Thanks for your response. Elatrolet is Amitriptyline HCL (10mg). It's supposed to be a mild anti-depressant & I was told to take it on a Friday before going to sleep (in case it knocked me out). I took it at 9pm on Friday (last week) and was so drowsy that I wasn't actually awake until 5pm on Saturday. The instructions from my rheumatologist were that if it made me non-functional not to take it & to go back to my family doctor to find out about something else. She's the one who gave me another NSAID which, again, was useless (this is the 3rd in 2 weeks, none even touched the pain).
