Hi ,

This is so interesting that your FT4 and TSH are doing the same exact thing

that happens

when we are on ATDs. Yes, our Free #s go down as we take the drugs, and most

often we over

shoot the mark, become a bit of a lot hypo, get labs and reduce our dose, so

that we can

let our bodies make more thyroid hormone. This is a constant adjustment process

for those

in my position. And yes, our TSH lags behind. That is why we hear of people

being treated

on TSH and having such problems. That is until they find the internet. :-)

Just on vitamins and supplaments...wow ! Your poor doctor. I can hardly wait

for your

report.

Hi ,

>>>Also, what more do you know about Hashitoxicosis? I'm read all there was

>>>on your site and I'm wondering if there are other good

>>>places/articles/medical texts to find info about this? I didn't find a

>>>whole lot of info yet.<<<

Go to www.google.com and type in " hashitoxicosis " using the quotes, that

should get you a lot of hits to start with. Google is the first search

enging I use when looking for things.

Hi Jody -

I tried this and did get a lot of hits, but about half of them were

in a foreign language and most of the other half were only one-liners

just mentioning hasitoxicosis. There were only a few references that

really had any content to them, unfortunately. I might have to go

back to the hospital's library and check the Werner and Ingbar book

again to see if there's anything there. (Someday when I can go just

myself. Last time Jake took all the paper out of their copier!) All

the books at the public library that mentioned thyroids had nothing

either. Thanks for the lead, though.

Pam -

After having seen this in action now, I can't believe that there are docs

who would base ATD dosages on TSH checks alone! I can only imagine the

frustration people go through like that! I am so glad that I have learned as

much as I have from everyone here. It almost gives me a kind of power rush

when I go to the doc now knowing that I might very well know more than he

does about this particular subject, and that at I can't be pushed around

into doing something until I've given the doc the third degree!

I'll let you all know what my poor doc says next week...he's probably doing

his homework now trying to figure out what the he** happened! I almost feel

sorry for him, he is a nice guy after all.
