Guest guest
Jody, (or anyone else) What is YOUR usual range of intraocular eye pressure (glaucome pressure?) ? Guest guest
Hi , My pressure, in December, was down to 22 from 24. We will see what it is when I go 3/1, weather be willing. My opinion on when to be getting concerned with the eye disease...I have to say, after living with this constantly for almost a year now, when the first symptoms show up we should see an ophthamologist immediately, if your not already seeing one. I would encourage every person diagnosed with graves to go to one upon diagnosis so that your ophthamologist has a baseline to go from should problems begin down the road. And every patient who has made an educated decision to use RAI should ALWAYS have one BEFORE that treatment is done. Guest guest
Hi Jody, My pressure was 24 today. First the technician tested it, then my ophthalmologist tested it with another instrument that he said was more accurate. Last week it was supposedly 27. He said that it can fluctuate that much even in a given day, much less in a week, but that he would like to have confirmed it with the more accurate test at that time. (He couldn't because he wasn't in the office.) At what numerical value does the pressure become a cause for concern? Is a " wait and see " attitude okay when it's fluctuating between 24 and 27? I'm supposed to see him (my regular ophthalmologist)again in 3 months. I'm scheduled to see the neuro- ophthalmologist at USC in about 5 weeks. Is this soon enough? Thanks, > Hi , > My pressure, in December, was down to 22 from 24. Guest guest
Hi , I don't know how to answer your question. My doctor will make some decisions when I see him on 3/1 regarding my pressure. I believe it is going to be down to 20 or lower, but I could be wrong. If your not getting black outs spots in your vision, increased double vision, or any drastic changes from where it is now, then I wouldn't stress over it right now...but if you do have vision changes, call both the docs immediately!
