Hi everyone, just thought I'd throw one out to you. I guess I am just

venting...again! Just found out yesterday that unless I can return to work

within 2 working days of my discharge from hospital for RAI (scheduled next

Thursday), I am terminated. I've used up my family medical leave allowed. Now

isn't that nice???

Hi BJ, thanks for sharing my vent. IThey've told me it's corp. policy (I

work(ed?) at a branch office), I wouldn't think they're trying to get rid of me,

I'm the customer service supervisor & I along with 1 del'y tech are the only

" veterans " in our office, although we just got a new branch manager only weeks

before my surgery she oversees 5 diff branches now and I did get the feeling she

may have felt threatened with me (why I don't understand-the co wasn't very good

about opening opportunities-they selected the " chosen " & I'm not one of them I

take). Anyway I was very loyal to that co and was good at what I did. As for

pay I've had to use any vac time accrued and then was only paid 1/2 pay on what

was considered short term disability so they weren't losing any $$$ on me. As

for the " real cancer " issue...you know this is as real to us as can be....I find

myself almost resenting when I get the feeling that's the attitude of others.

Cancer is cancer......I thought that I would maybe have to not necessarily get

my old position back but possibly a diff one, but I guess none may be the

answer. I was thinking of a career change - maybe this will be my little push.

It just hurts because I was very loyal and dedicated to my work. One thing I do

have to say is that having thyca has really made me look at things in newer

light and maybe my life is ready for a BETTER turn. You certainly never know

what's around the corner so we should make every one count.

Sorry this became more than a short reply......thanks again.

Hi Kathy:

I had to tell you how sorry i am for this attitude you have come up

agianst at your work. Wow! Very unbelievable that they would not

appreciate that it is for their welfare that you do not go in

until " clear " . Would your nuclear med Dr write a letter for you?

Would it help? They still might not listen. How very cruel to " kick

one while they are down " !

I commend your attitude in your last post. I doubt i would be as

charitable.

Take care of yourself,

Sharon

I am so sorry you are up against the work issue too...did you see my message

that I posted before even having my TT? The ironic thing for me is that I work

as a hospice nurse! -- Tammy
