Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Today i am 11 days post-op from having upper, lower and genio. This has definitely been the hardest thing that I have ever gone through, but I feel like I have made a lot of progress in the past few days. I feel pretty good today. I have lots of energy and am definitely getting sick of sitting around the house. My swelling and bruising is still pretty bad though ( I can only imagine what I looked like when I was in the hospital - everyone kept asking my parents if I got into a car accident). I scheduled some appointments for MLD therapy for next week (its really expensive, but hopefully it will help!). I'm drinking successfully out of a regular glass! I have almost gotten to the point where I can drink without drooling all over myself which is major progress! My lips are still not closing naturally, it requires a little effort. The congestion is pretty much gone and my morning coughing fits have pretty much subsided. So all in all I am doing so much better then I was last week! As far as numbness is concerned, I think my gums may be the only place that is numb.. is that possible? I feel it when I touch my cheeks, chin, nose, lips ect.. it doesnt feel completely normal which I assume is because of the swelling, but I definitely feel it. Could it be possible that I really don't have any numbness? I find this hard to believe because I have read so many posts about post-oppers experienceing numbness... does the numbness show up later? I am a little confused... Thanks for any advice you have to offer! -Hillary
