Hi Lynn,

I do know that coffee enemas are good but the question about stimulating

depleted adrenals is a concern for all with depleted adrenals. I have not

heard any good discussion or evidence to the contrary, have you?

Actually I don't recall reading anything about an effect on the adrenals,

other than what TK posted.

Having been on the adrenal fatigue list, it has come up in discussion many

times to avoid any caffeine for adrenal fatigue. I know for sure that if

affected mine in a negative way.

I agree that drinking coffee has a detrimental effect on the adrenals. The

proponents of coffee enemas say that the effects from drinking coffee are

different from doing coffee enemas. From Gerson's work: " It is interesting

to note that drinking a cup of coffee has an entirely different effect from

that of using it as a cleansing enema. Drinking coffee causes the following

problems: increases reflex response, lowers blood pressure, increases heart

rate, causes insomnia and heart palpitations, over stimulates the adrenals,

irritates the stomach, and leaves a toxic residue in the body. A coffee

enema, when done properly will not produce these effects. "

I don't know if anyone's actually ever done any kind of testing to confirm

that a coffee enema has no effect on the adrenals. Maybe everything is just

speculation. Maybe the beneficial effects of dilating the bile ducts and

dumping toxins is considered to far exceed any negative effects on the

adrenals.

My understanding is that it is the hemorrhoidal vein in the colon which then

affects the portal vein in the liver.
