I'm a 20 year old male, who has been recently diagnosed with rosacea and

possibly rhinophyma. It's terrible and it stops me from doing what i want.

No longer can I stay in the sun or drink with my mates at uni. My condition

is fairly bad..I had it for at least 2 years (perhaps much longer) before i

saw a doctor about it, thinking it was my complexion. The pores on my nose

and cheeks are enormous, I have papules and my nose is huge. I am using

metrogel(for a week now). Please can any one tell me if there is hope of

complete or close to complete recovery? Is metrogel effective for such

symptoms?

I can relate with your story because rosacea started to hit me at the

same age... it sucks! Try not to get too discouraged though... you

may want to do some research on Dr. Nase... from the looks and sounds

of things he managed to reverse his condition and we can all benefit

from his experience... it's a good thing you are here too because

when I found out about this group things started to get better for

me... I didn't realize it but I was trying out all these different

skin-care products before and all I was doing was making my condition

worse... I think that's why things were progressing so quickly for

me... thankfully, since joining the group things have turned around

somewhat but my skin is still extremely sensitive... though I am

thankful that I am half-normal again but it would sure be nice not

have to deal with this problem anymore... i'm kind of hoping that by

using skin-care products suitable for this condition and avoiding my

triggers my skin might be able to normalize itself over time... that

seems to be the direction it is going in... things were constantly

getting worse but now they seem to be constantly (though ever so

slowly) getting better... I just hope it keeps up... I don't know

anything about metrogel but three products that I can recommend are

Zia Fresh Cleansing Gel, jojoba oil and Dr. Sy's ZincO cream... We

are all different and react differently to different products but

these have sure been good for me... the ZincO cream is still quite

new in my regime, before using it I used the sunscreen CityBlock by

Clinique... I recommend that product as well... I know probably 100%

more now about rosacea than I did before I joined this group and this

'progressive disease' and the quality of my life have done nothing

but improve from the knowledge... I hope your experience here proves

to be equally as rewarding... Best of luck!
