Of course, you are right. The most practical course of action would be to quit

smoking. That is what I and many others did when we began trying to conceive or

upon finding out we were expecting. I think what meant -- and

correct me if I'm wrong -- is that it may not be realistic that all Moms are

going to take this course of action, wise as it may be. Yes, ideally they

should quit smoking, and nobody should smoke, ever. Smoking is dangerous for

everyone. But unfortunately some people do, even Moms, and we should still

encourage these Moms to breastfeed, rather than formula feeding.
