Gordon,

Thanks for posting that! I must be a total idiot. Ever since I began taking

fish oil my cat has been crying like crazy when the bottle is out or my pills

are out. Thanks for solving my mystery! :-)

Fish oil eating cat

I have to go to work early in the morning so

sometimes I've left my morning fish oil pill on the

counter top for a quick grab and swallow in the morning. I started

to think I was loosing it when my tablets were no where to be found.

I started to get concerned because they are large and I have a 1 1/2

old boy running around. As you probably guess by my subject line,

that darn cat was eating them.

Great description of Iga Pierre. When people ask me what my problem

is a stumble and don't have a good explanation other than my immune

system is attacking my kidney. I didn't know any other way to

describe it.

A relative's dog was actually prescribed the same fish oil pills IgAN

patients take for its medical condition. So that should be a healthy cat :)

LOL!! Oh thank you for bringing a smile to my face tonight. My six cats

come running when I have my bottle out filling my pill organizers. They sit

there in anticipation of me dropping one I guess. They will also try to

open my pill organizer that has them in it...hence one of the reasons they

are in a separate one from my regular Rx's.

I'm sure you now have a very healthy cat. Have you noticed how nice and

shiny it's fur is now?? :o)

A few years ago, I left my bottle of clonidine pills where I shouldn't have,

and next thing I knew, my dog had found it, chewed it open, and eaten at

least 15 clonidine blood pressure pills. After a quick emergency trip to the

vet, luckily just a few blocks away, and a big dose of activated charcoal,

he seemed to be none the worse for wear, although he did make coal black

deposits in the lawn for a week. He's 8 years old now, and as far as I know,

he doesn't have high blood pressure :)

Isn't it funny how cats seem attracted to fish, I mean it's hardly their staple

diet!!!

My pug loves the fishoils. I give her one from time to time. Of

course, she does have an insatiable appetite. She'll eat just about

anything that's not nailed down.

Boy, Pierre.. That one must have been very, very scary. I bet that was one

your vet hadn't confronted before. Of all the accidental poisonings animals

confront, I can't imagine clonidine tops any vet's list! I'm glad your dog

survived that one.
