Marty,

That is not good at all. Has your creatinine level dropped back down?

Please keep us posted when you get your results of the JC and BK virus.

You and take care of yourselves!

Thanks ,

The SCr did come back down to baseline and I'm feeling better. They

gave me a bunch of IV Cipro because at one time, they thought I was

septic. They later decided that the blood culture had been

contaminated.

Marty, it is an interesting thing. They say that it only gets about 5%

of transplanted kidneys. Hope nether of us are in that group. Though,

my doc says that it can be treated, but she says that the med is toxic.

What has kind of ticked me is that it took a call from ME to get the

docs to do something. I have gone from 1.2 to 1.7 is the since mid

September. Your doc gets you at a much lower climb. I told the nurses

that I wouldn't be concerned if my creatinine had started higher.

In my case, I went to the emergency room because I had been having

pain around the transplant site. I didn't know what my S Cr was

running. The docs basically wrote it off as being underhydrated when

they discharged me. Funny thing is that I drink about 4 liters of

water minimum per day.

That is certainly an understatement! Thank goodness that you are an

informed patient. Especially today, I feel that one has to be involved in

the entire process. You can't take anything for granted when it comes to

your health. Let us know how your test comes out next month.

Connie

BK virus

Well the blood test is back and I do show mild BK virus. The docs want

me to stop my celcep and then get tested next month. They say that it

is the immunosuppressant that let this virus bother the transplanted

kidney. If, when I am tested next month, I show no virus, they will

slowly start me on the celep again. Isn't it interesting that I was

the one that brought it to the doctor's attention. Sometime they need us

laymen. So, there, take that you docs.!!!!!
