Hi all,

I have to comment here--I don't have any right to since I'm not in the same

boat with the post-RAI crowd, but I do think that it's laughable that they

think one has LESS problems when hypo than hyper--which all our endos seem

to believe. I love whose ever comment it was (I'm running on empty right now

so forgive lapses) about hypos being easier patients cause they're so wiped

out all the time, thus more tractable.

What seems to me is that doctors have a dismissive attitude about quality of

life. As long as you're not in danger of dying, and they're not in danger of

being sued, they have achieved success, and too bad if you have to go

through life feeling like cold leftover oatmeal.

Anyway, I'm giving my endo a Christmas present Monday--a copy of the symptom

list, for his edification.

Hi Terry,

I'm giving my endo a Christmas present too...a copy of Elaine's book :) I do

know she will read it, she reads everything I bring in.

Your right though, about them not caring about the quality of life we have.

I think it is for the reasons you state plus they continue to mask our

symptoms with those nasty SRII drugs and send us to shrinks we don't

need...hmmmm maybe they really need to think about the Hippocratic oath

before rushing to RAI...First Do No Harm!

Until then, I guess we do whatever we have to do to get them to listen and

learn from us...we live this disease.

My favorite thing about this thread is Dawn Rose's idea and example of

rating our doctors. I wonder if we could actually set something up on the

web to do just that. Not some fly by night web site, but an actual one that

we could link to say, maybe webmd or some of the other medical sites out

there...so doctors can get the picture...there, THAT is my Christmas wish :)
