There is another hidden one that most people are unaware of. Along with

having to have an overall average of seventy and pass all the critical

subscales,

one must also pass 126 items overall, regardless of the subscales. I have seen

one student who did exactly that. He passed all the critical subscales, made a

71 average overall, but due to missing too many questions in the

" non-critical " subscale, he only had 125 items correct, and was unsuccessful.

(He ended up

successfully completing the next attempt.) Point is, there are three ways

the NR can nail you:

1) Failure of a critical subscale.

2) Failure to achieve a 70% overall.

3) Failure to successfully complete 126 items, regardless of other criteria.

So, yes, it is definitely possible to pass all the critical subscales and

still " fail " the exam.

Aha, but unless you've recently graduated from a class, you're required to

take a 40 hr recert/review class....No????

I had intended to challenge the exam, so I'd know what our guys had to go

through. But, I have neither the time nor the desire to sit through a review

class.

Kathi,

I do my teaching for TechPro Services, so I'm forwarding your email to Lee

to answer. I'm not sure when the next class is scheduled, but I'll

let him know that you're interested.

Actually, there are ways to bypass the class if you can prove your CE blocks

match the requirements in the list - just call NR and talk to them - they will

explain. They don't really expect folks who teach this stuff all the time to

still have to take a refresher - what you teach counts I believe.
