I laughed a while and started walking around petting my transplanted kidney thinking " my prescious... " I hope everything goes well for you and that your life returns to " normal " once again. Those people get me so frosted sometimes. My husband and I had a similar run-in with an alternative practicioner. It still steams me. If I was on the east coast, I'd do your feet for free. Glad to hear all the testing went so well for you and your brother. I don't think my son named his new kidney, but that's an interesting idea. He did find it very interesting that he could feel it or at least the outline of it (and it definitely was kidney shaped) just below the surface of his lower abdomen. We made many jokes about how some of my various traits might be transferred through the kidney. The night before the transplant, I did give my son a letter giving him ownership of one well-used and slightly hyperactive kidney " free and clear " and reassuring him that whatever the outcome, I would have no regrets. Donating that kidney has been one of the most thrilling and satisfying things I've done in my life - right up there with having babies - so although you are feeling immensely grateful to your brother, he's also going to feel really great about it too. Each of you gets a gift out of this deal, and you can celebrate the transplant anniversary together. Good luck - I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Now, I am a scientist by education, and I completely understand osmosis...but through a glass container????? Supposedly this was supposed to remove the toxins from his blood twice a day. He suggested that I should see this doctor (I use the term loosely) also.
