Guest guest
No problem. I was going to scratch through those types of comments -- just enough to let them get the gist of it, you know. No need to make her any angrier. I will probably go ahead and remove him from school again anyway. I'm starting to think that's what they want. My God, do they have any idea what it will cost them to educate him in another county -- a county that doesn't have to pick up the tab and who will probably give him everything he needs BECAUSE they don't have to pay for it? Guest guest
Sissi, I'd be royally ticked off, but that's my opinion! ellen Maybe it's just me I'm not going to say what I think. There are teachers here. Maybe they can give their opinions. Maybe some of you moms with kids Boone's age can give your opinions. Maybe some of you who have kids who have been Boone's age can give your opinions. Maybe I'm just overly-sensitive. For those of you who don't know, Boone is five years old and in kindergarten. Please look at this and tell me what YOU think. Please be completely honest with me. Someone's health may depend on it. http://home.isoa.net/~nitetrax/youcandobetter.jpg Sissi

Guest guest
I don't think it's just you. I think it is fucking incredible that he can do a worksheet like that at all. I think if the teacher knew jack shit about autism she would know that handwriting is a MAJOR issue for most of our kids. I think every answer on the damned paper was correct so why the hell is she coming down on him like that? But maybe it's just me. CAN he do better? Is his writing usually better than that? I thought you were keeping him home until they called that guy, or something. ? -Sara.

Guest guest
NO it's not you. That teacher needs to learn a lesson in positive reinforcement and/or constructive criticism rather than tearing down what I think was an AWESOME effort on Boone's part. What an idiot. -BJ

Guest guest
> For those of you who don't know, Boone is five years old and in kindergarten. Two of my children were ADHD and one was not. I was a firm believer that children should enjoy the years before school. They did not know how to write when they went to kindergarten. My daughter wrote like this until she was in the 3rd grade and she never did catch on to neatness or stuff like that. This is ridiculous for a kindergarten teacher to say. First of all, Boone is autistic, has she heard of the word? Second of all, if she said that to an NT child, it would shatter self-esteem. By third grade many NT children already dislike school, is she trying to get them to teach them or is she trying to belittle them. (And yep, I've given teachers a piece of my mind, more than once). Didn't school start a mere 5 months ago? Kindergarten is to get the hang of school, not the stress. debbi debbi
