Hi all,

Tomorrow if you think of it, please say a prayer or send good thoughts for

my 5 year old grandson Levi. He is getting his tonsils out at 9:00 a.m. I

don't know who is worse off tonight, me or his mommy. I have an angel worry

stone and I promised to bring it to the hospital for him tomorrow so he can

rub it and hold it while he is in surgery. He likes giving his worries to

the angels.

Anyhow, thanks everyone.

I'll be thinking of your grandson tomorrow. I got my tonsils out at age 5

and I did just fine (not counting developing GD 30 years later :-) ! ) In

fact, the first time one of my children needed antibiotics I took one

sniff and was transported back to those pre 5 years when I lived on the

stuff. (The first time I had anitibiotics after my tonsillectomy was 13

years later for strept!)

Good luck and take care, Fay

Thanks Fay,

I need to hear all of this tonight. I am not sure I will be sleeping much.

Going through this when *I* was younger and it was my daughter was so much

easier. I was a lot more naive then.

Fay,

Did you have a lot of problems with Strep once you hit the teenage years? I

had it a couple of times a year! I was also born with 3 different kinds of

strep germs that caused a heart murmur for me.

Just curious...I know lots of us have had sinus problems with Gd... just

wondering about strep.

Jody,

Your request also brought back memories for me, I was 6 and remember most

waking up after and being offered ice cream. Will keep your grandson in my

thoughts tomorrow.

Thank G-d I had no real problems from strep as a teenager. I have had it

a few times since having kids (who've shared the wealth), along with two

ear infections over the past 20 years. I am a groupB strep carrier, which

necessitates penicillin during labor but I think that's a different

issue.

My son had strep 4 times in one year. The pediatrician shrunk his tonsils

with... I don't remember exactly what the regimen was, maybe allergy

medicines and he's only had it occasionally since. I've also had kids

with mutliple ear infections, including one who avoided tubes with

homeopathy and acidopholus.

Take care,

Fay

Dear Jody

I just read this - the surgery will be well and truly over by now. But I hope it

all went well.

I'll pray for a speady recovery for Levi - did he like the ice cream (do they

still give it???)??

Cheers

Hi Caroline,

He is doing fine today. Tomorrow is a week since they came out. He doesn't

want the ice cream, just pudding, jello and grilled cheese sandwiches oh,

and popcorn for breakfast...but when he doesn't want to eat 'his throat

hurts so bad'...he knows how to play us all :)

He is with today until Friday and we are decorating the tree and watching

Christmas movies and eating popcorn. Thank you for prayers and good

thoughts.

How is Master Dylan doing? I hope he is totally over his infection and back

to thriving! Please let me know.
