Guest guest
, They will give you blood thinners more than likely. I have them and I was put on blood thinners and except for one last week have done very well. Remember, this are not big strokes. There is nothing to be in denial about. You are not having a stroke but as I call them mini strokes. You may have one now and no more for years. Please don't let this worry you. If it is very bad, your doctor would have told you. Did he talk to you about what they are and what you can except? My doctors do not seem to worried about my having them so I decided if they were not worried, then there was no sense in my worrying. Easier said then done. :-)) Take care, Irene If you would like to talk about this, email me off list and I will discuss it with you unless the rest of the list would be interested. A lot of people have TIA's and don't know it. My husband is 39 and he had 2. He was driving and lost his eyesight for a moment. Took himself right to the doctor and it was TIA. He just has to take one aspirin a day. What are you going to have to take. My best wishes go out to you God Bless, Kathy D. Guest guest
, That puts a whole different outlook on things. I would think that with your family history that he would have spent more time explaining things to you. I think that the next time you see him that you will ask for more detail about TIA's and what you could expect. Doctors like this irritate me immensely. My doctor explained to me what a TIA was and what to expect and as I said, I do not worry a lot about it. Please try not to worry immensely but write to me anytime you feel scared and I will be glad to answer and to support in any way that I can. You are in my thoughts and prayers, Take care, Irene > My doctor was very abrupt ... and said I had a TIA which a mini stroke. You > see, 6 years ago, my Mom had a major stroke. People complain about waiting all the time. The other day there was a girl there just hopping out of her seat, complaining like crazy that her appt. was 15 min's ago. If there was another seat I would have moved. Finally, I said to her " We wait because he takes so much time with us and it's worth the wait to have him not dismiss you at all " she just kept complaining I feel bad for my doc and his office staff his wife is dying of brain cancer and she ran the place so with her not being in the office they are short handed and all his patient's know this. Guest guest
abraxis3@... Dear and Irene I've gotten pretty fed up with doctor's too, and I decided to assert myself awhile back! The problem is we look at them as God's! Doctor...help me, help me! But the truth of the matter is, they work for us. Without us, they wouldn't have their nice big paychecks! My doctor went to dismiss me and I told him, 'I don't expect you to know everything, and I'm not interested in your ego, so if you don't know what's wrong, then you can refer me to someone who does. If you don't have the time for me, then I'll find a doctor who does. " For a short second, I thought, " Oh no, I've gone too far! " , but to my surprise (after a few seconds), he said, " I'm sorry. I guess I'm just so rushed that I don't take the time I need to take with my patient's anymore. Then he sat down and talked to me. Before that time, he was always looking at his watch! I got his attention! , I hope you're feeling better. That would be very frightening..my prayers are with you! LOL Sue --- patidu@... wrote: > , > > That puts a whole different outlook on things.
