Guest guest
Jody, First of all, I hope Levi's surgery went OK. Hope you and his mom get some sleep tonight! I'm intrigued by your comment to Fay about sinus problems and GD. What's the connection here, if any? I didn't realize that sinus problems were common with GD. I ask because I've got terrible sinus problems. I usually average 3 sinus infections a year, at least. I got strep frequently when I was in high school and college, had it several times as an adult, too. One of my brothers is a strep carrier, too, so that didn't help. You've heard the old stories about grandfathers who knew it was going to rain tomorrow because their joints would ache, etc. I can tell when it's going to rain or snow because my sinuses hurt the day before. And it's so had to find a decongestant that I can take because the pseudophedrine in them makes me so jittery. It's an ongoing battle. Re: OT and personal >Fay, >Did you have a lot of problems with Strep once you hit the teenage years? I >had it a couple of times a year! It's an ongoing >>>>battle.<<<< I think it is in the archives here about the sinus problems that many have...if not this group I can't remember which group it was Actually sinus headaches and infections were the first symptoms I had have GD...but didn't know it at the time. I had never had a sinus infection in my life, we moved back to NY from Ca. Labor Day Weekend of '86 and they started in October but I didn't know they were sinus. Ended up with a bad infection that was diagnosed only after I passed out at work and had to go to the ER. When I get an infection the best antibiotic for me, for sinus is the only Sulfa drug. A lot of people can't take it but I can, and it will knock the infection out in days and I don't get another one for 2/3 years. If the doc uses any other antibiotic (like the new, more powerful, more expensive ones) I will have the infection back in 2/3 months. I stated using Tylenol sinus pills (non drowsy, no aspirin) and that would take care of them. I took them to my doc because I have been on blood pressure meds since I was 28 and he told me I could use them, once, maybe twice a day as needed, but could not excede that amount. Now I buy the Walmart Brand of the Maximum Strength Sinus pills, green and white box and they are 1/3 of the cost for 48 of them. I usually take them once a day, about an hour before bedtime, and at no time close to any other med. That way I don't wake up choking in the morning because my sinus have drained all night. I have never told my endo I take them...I'm not going to quit taking them. I can't stand the sinus pressure and the draining or the infections...and I don't abuse them either...something to keep in mind. Maybe others will remember if it was this group where we talked about the sinus, or come in with the sinus problems they have had. Hope this helps some, Jody _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

Guest guest
We did briefly talk about sinus, how so many of us have that nighttime drip and wake up choking I think. I know it's an ongoing problem for me if I don't take my Chinese herbs, but if I do, I'm usually OK. Guest guest
Wow Pam, you DO know a lot about plants! What climatalogical needs do they have, they sound so wonderful! Can one get them, and will they grow in California (I think we're zone 9, on most charts--SF bay area). I can't imagine a plaid flower.
