Guest guest
Hi Debbie, First off, did your dad go home from the hospital today? How is he doing, and how are YOU doing? It is so rough to go through this at any time, the holidays just seem to make it feel so much worse. Thoughts and prayers continue with you and your family. >>>>Water, water, water has been the most important factor for me. The fall of '97 I was gulping ice water while I was canning, for some reason my heart skipped a beat, I fainted and quit drinking a lot of water. Once I started drinking while dieting it has helped with the weight loss.<<<< Our bodies do not need the ice in the water, believe it or not, especially in the summertime. We tend to over heat and when we put the excessive cold in it from drinking lots of cold drinks, even water it becomes a shock to our system. Don't get me wrong, I love ice in my water and have a 32 ounce thermo mug always ready to drink from...but when I am doing my *glasses* of water I do it from the tap (through a new filter we put on). It goes down faster, it isn't shocking my system and my body thanks me Anyhow, something to keep in mind. My son's sports doctor explained this to me a few years ago. He said adding the cold, especially rapidly can also cause muscle cramping. It also can make one nauseous and cause abdominal pain. Have a Merry Christmas, and I will write you a long e-mail to catch up and answer yours after Christmas day. *HUGZ* for you and yours, Jody _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com

Guest guest
Hi Debbie, What is CHF? If you explained it in an earlier post I missed it. They shut my mail off because I haven't been cleaning it out regularly. Too busy getting ready for the next 2 days. Run your tap water til it gets cold...then add a wedge of real lemon. The lemon refreshes the mouth and is good for the kidneys and makes the water taste sooooooooooo good TTYL Jody _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com

Guest guest
Hi Jody, Yes, my Dad came home. His heart rate is still around 102, don't know if that will change in time or because of the CHF. He is determined to live a long life. Cleveland Clinic just put an implant in someones heart that has CHF on Dec. 10th, was in yesterdays newspaper here. That sure helped me feel better. He can't be around any kind of illness. Yesterday I started coughing and just haven't felt well. I think the week took it's toll on me. So I am resting and taking it easy. The doctor said something on that effect about the ice water and the drinking. The thing is that plain tap water makes me gag. LOL! But, now I drink slowly. And of course, when this happened I was hot. Merry Christmas to you and your family and to all on this board. Debbie R. <*;*>
