Guest guest
, I guess the point is that there are some things that could damage the braces or pop them off, like toffee, hard apples, hard- crusted pizza, and other things that can get caught in various crevices and potentially cause problems with caries, like popcorn. Have you never gotten a kernel stuck somewhere? I sure have, and it's hell to get it out. No such problems last night, as my teeth are beautifully straight. When a friend advised me that she had been told no popcorn while in braces, I thought it a good idea. I had another friend who did popcorn, I just decided it better to err on the cautious side. And it was one more thing to celebrate with, at the end of this long journey : ) My hygienist says it's very challenging to keep your teeth properly cleaned with all the hardware in place (and I would add, it's much harder post-op with limited mouth opening), so giving up a few things in order to keep on track is worth the sacrifice.
