Guest guest
y, I have not taken Cyclosporin, but I did some research on the Internet for you, even checking the Physicians Desk Reference (PDR) which is the gold standard for drug information, and hair loss is not listed as a side effect of Cyclosporin anywhere I checked. The PDR listed hair breakage as a rare occurrence, but none of the sites listed hair loss. Hope that helps.

Guest guest
y, I have encountered quite the opposite. One of cyclosporin's side effects is increased hair growth. However when my kidney function dropped into the low range (below 20%) I experienced thinning of my hair tremendously. I'm not sure what your current kidney situation is, but hair loss can be caused by medicines, loss of kidney function, or just age / genetics. I'd be sure to mention it to your Dr. > I am taking cyclosporin (sp?) and was wondering if anyone noticed > hair loss from it? I don't know if this is just me being a man or > if it's the medicine. > Thanks, > y

Guest guest
You can get a bit of hair loss just from advanced renal failure, and being on dialysis too. Guest guest
My docs told me my hair loss was due to the loss of protien. I " spill " it in my urine and I am on a low protien diet so my hair and nails rarely grow and are very thin. I shed a lot!!! If I were to save the hair in the shower drain, at the end of a month to a month and a half, I could have a whole wig made. Guest guest
My hair and nails are icky too from losing too much protein. My hairdresser said that was going to happen. Let me know if you find something over the counter to make your hair stronger! > > I am taking cyclosporin (sp?) and was wondering if anyone noticed > > hair loss from it? Guest guest
Maybe you should check with your doctor to be sure you are eating enough protein. Guest guest
Hi , We did a run on cyclosporin some time ago. It was an enormous help getting the urine protein down! Hair loss generally doesn't go with cyclo. Actually, excessive hair growth is more symptomatic. Our neph said that when it happens it generally occurs where you don't want it (stuff like growing hair between your two eyebrows). Guest guest
Hey y I'm not on cyclosporin but I have noticed that I " shed " quite a bit of hair with every medication change. It normally takes about a month after the med change for my hair to stop falling out. (not a fun thing when you have hair down to your waist...it's like I can build a small puppy from the stuff on the floor in my bathroom. Not to mention my poor husband is constantly pulling my hair off his clothes after I hug him.) Amy hair loss > I am taking cyclosporin (sp?) and was wondering if anyone noticed > hair loss from it?
