It's probably just rubbing off from the friction of the band, just

like you see back sleeping babies w/the bald spot in the back.

It'll grow back :).

Kat,

This can happen sometimes especially in the holding areas, but it's not

permanent and will grow back.

Hi Ellen,

it is how you discribed. I´m running with my fingers, and every time I

do, I loose hair. The brush is full of it very quick.

No, in the moment I have no spots, but they fall out.

Does it stop some time? Ore is it going on and on and...?

greetings to florida :-)

Inga,

I also experience alot of hair loss but so far do not have any bald spot. I

think it's from a combination of the meds we take as well as the disease. I have

heard from others as well that they do have hair loss.

Hope this helps.

Oh! at first, something about me:

I´m 40, diagnosed since 5 month with still. I´m german, but living in

spain.

OK!

Since 4 month I took MTX, dacortin, folic acid, calcium, Ibuprofen,

something for my stomach and since 2 month imurel (Imunsupresivum)

And now, since some weeks I´m loosing my hair. I´m realy afraid!!!

The loss of hair is tremendes!

Have anyone had this problem too?

In the farmacy they said it is a side effect of this imunsubresivum.

But i don´t want to loose my hair completly!!!

Is there someone with experience, anything I can do?

I hope someone can help my!!!

Hey there Inga:

The hair loss will go in waves. Like you my brush is almost full of

dead hair by the day's end. It will get better though.

I believe, like other animals, we shed anyway. Medication just makes

it more pronounced, that's all. If you ahve access to aloe vera (the

real plant or the undiluted drink) it would help a bit. You just need

to take it 3 times a week.

Aloe Vera, by the way, is also good for a number of other things such

as digestion and colon health. It also keeps your skin supple and

gives a nice shine to your hair.

Take care and be well.

Hi Inga, I don't know if you saw my post about Folic Acid. I was loosing a lot

of hair I think because of the MTX, so the Dr prescribed 5 mg of Folic Acid per

day. My hair has since quit falling out and is getting thick again. Hope this

helps.

I lost a TON of hair during the first six months while on MTX but all

of a sudden it just started growing back. Now it's thicker and

curlier. The only change I made was switching from pill form to

injection form, but my rheumatologist said that even on pills, the hair

loss is usually temporary. I don't know if that has been the

experience that others have had... I hope so, and I hope that

alleviates some of your fears!

Hi

i have always had very long and thick hair. i don't remember myself with

short hair...but...After i became ill and began taking prednisolon i was

with almost no hair on my head( to be correct about 7-8 months after

begining ).

during these months i was losing a ton of hair, not only my brush but also

my hands were full of hair. it was falling down even if i didn't touch it or

move. i was sitting on the chair and felt how my hair fell down. i have no

words to express how i felt . i had no choice - i had to cut it and it was

0.5sm long. it was obvious that i had hair problems - not only me but

another people could see it. of course i visit my RD and dermatologist too,

i took some medicin but it didn't work. the RD said that the reason was

still's itself and the long list of medication which i took. can you imagine

how happy i felt when i saw A growing hair on my head! i was going to the

mirror every hour to look at it and i was happy and smiled. losing my hair

was a big shock for me and still i feel panik when think of it. now 11

months after my hair is almost ok not as thick as it was but looks good. i

haven't taken mtx since now. but my RD gave it to me this week - 10mg

weekly. i haven't taken it yet! i am not afraid of but panik of losing my

hair again. it hasn't recoverd yet! and.....i don't know. the RD said: no,

you are not going to loose your hair! i don't believe that. and reading in

this discussion board i understand that mtx gives a serious posibility of

losing hair. but whatever will happen the most important thing is we to do

what our Rd say. if you lost your hair it would grow again. you'll see! I

promise you!
