Guest guest
so how are those boobies? Lenore Re: castor oil??? DOH! That's the word I was looking for... prostaglandins... re-read my entire e-mail substituting the word " prostaglandins " for " oxytocin " ... hey, I had general anesthesia less than two weeks ago, so surely I'm allowed a few moments of stooopidity. <snicker> THANK YOU for correcting me!!! From what I understand, prostaglandins' effect of softening and ripening then stimulates your own body to produce natural oxytocin? Guest guest
Very sore... very sore... black and purple under my arms, too. But I'm feeling some better. Got the staples out of my abdomen, although the drains are still in. Hopefully next Tuesday at my appt. they'll remove those. They will only take them if they're producing less than 20 cc per day, though, and they're still putting out quite a bit of fluid. So I don't hold out a lot of hope. Oh well! I guess I'd rather that the fluid drained out and was gone instead of collecting behind my incision. Guest guest
> The first thing I saw when I woke up from my > surgery was my little Ta Ta's sticking straight up in > the air instead of laying on my tummy. A little > hint if you wear the support around your tummy tight > as you can stand it, you won't be quiet as sore. LOL! That was one of the first things I uttered: " They're so little!!! " I was quite excited. Then I got home and they were swollen and bruised and ugly, and I began to wonder what in the WORLD I had done to myself. The support binder... I have a question about that. I would be able to wear it one notch tighter except that it squishes the places where the drains go into my hips and it's uncomfortable. Should I cinch it up tighter now or wait until the drains come out? K

Guest guest
Dr. Eugene Cherny, here in Des Moines Iowa. Yes, insurance covered it. It was actually NOT a TT, but a panniculectomy. I didn't realize they weren't one and the same thing until I had my consultation with him. Apparently a TT involves actually tightening and sculpting the musculature of your abdomen, while a panniculectomy simply removes the excess skin and tightens it. My insurance would not cover a TT, but would cover the breast reduction and panni because of the comorbidities involved. I'm not unhappy with the results, although I think I'll be happier the further out I go. Right now it's still just so swollen and bruised, and I still feel somewhat weak and weary. It's amazing how fast you forget how debilitating it is to have major surgery. I'm remembering how I felt the first six weeks post-WLS... I had truly forgotten just how bad I felt for how long. I couldn't believe I'd done that to myself! But after I began losing weight and feeling better, it became the best thing I ever did for myself. I'm counting on this surgery being a similar experience for me. K
