Guest guest
You better believe it. If my employer tells me to type it a certain way I'm going to do it without arguing with her, especially in a case like this. Guest guest
I have to agree with Monika ... on my accounts, if the doctor spells it out (and even says " capital X " ), then I type it that way - even if I KNOW it is wrong. I type for a breast surgeon who spells out " Her2neu " each time ... NOW, I KNOW this is wrong, but who am I to call a breast surgeon wrong??? She can be a bit moody besides, so I'll just type what she says and wait until she corrects herself. Re: Femhrt You better believe it. Guest guest
I certainly see your point and you are totally correct as per my sig line.... since most likely the doc is the one who proofs the report. It was never my intention to criticize any MT for doing what their doctor wants, and I hope no one took it that way. I simply was asking that if you could document to your boss, whoever that is, that something is spelled a certain way, would they accept it? If it was presented in a nonconfrontational way of course <grin> In my case, however, I'm Q/Ad by auditors, and it's their final decision as to how something should be typed and furthermore, their decision reflects on my paycheck as to whether I make incentive or not or even have money taken away from my base rate in some cases if there are many errors. I can challenge their decision if I have proof, which is a good thing On the other hand, I know there are students on this list who need to know what is correct, in addition to needing to know that someday their bosses may ask them to do it wrong. Guest guest
NO, no, no ... I personally didn't ever feel criticized ... I just thought I'd give my opinion. I am an IC and learn how to handle each account just by picking up on the mood of the doctor. On some accounts I feel free to make necessary corrections (mostly on their grammar). Other times, as in the case with the Her2neu and FemHRT, the doctors are both women ... when they spell something, I stick with the way they spell it. Knowing their personality, I would feel it would be offending them if I were to correct them. My male doctors, however, seem really easy-going and appreciate it when I make the corrections. Strange.
