Guest guest
Killie, His band most likely needs an adjustment, it is VERY common in the beginning of treatment to need an adjustment or 2 o3 before " just right " fit is found. It may be making him uncomfortable when he's laying down. You should call your ortho. Any red mark that doesn't fade within an hour needs to be addressed. Good luck and let us know how you make out. --- In Plagiocephaly , " kknobel66 " <kkpearl66@a...> wrote: > Mason got his STARband 7 days ago tomorrow and is a total champ with > it during the day, he > acts completely unphased. Kille, He may need an adjustment. Does he have those red spots during the day? How long does it take for them to fade? Guest guest
Killie, Red spots that are getting worse mean it's time for an adjustment. This can happen after a big growth spurt or in the initial phase of treatment. Call the OT. Also be sure to dress him very light at night until he adjusts his body temp to having the band on. Guest guest
Went for an adjustment today. Red spots always fade, and none are too bad. Just noticed after he was so upset they seemed more irritated. OT basically said it's time to suck it up, not in those terms of course. Having never been a subscriber to the cry it out technique, this could be a challenge. But what did work last night was taking it off for a couple hours so he could get into deep sleep, then put it on and he went straight back to sleep. I know we can't do this regularily, but it's helping to get that thing on at night! Thanks for the advice all. Guest guest
killie, Well then I would say he was too warm. A diaperand t-shirt or just a onsie will do till he is through the adjustment period.
