Guest guest
Try going to Legal Aid. I don't think Ann Siegel is there anymore (congrats Ann!) but there are excellent attorneys there to help you. Its in Broward Cty and depending on your financial situation there is usually no fee or a small one. Maybe its because when you have it good there is nothing to say...We are going to court,if I can find an attorney that I can afford, but I really don't know what it will accomplish since I will be asking for something they don't offer...an actual education without me being the one to tell them how to do it. broward schools Can anyone pls let me know what they think of Broward public school system if your child is in special ed or has supports? We are relocating and I have no idea what the opinion is of the school system there. Here the school system is extremely difficult to work with and obtain what the student needs and write a good IEP, you pretty much need a lawyer for any disagreements. Is it like that there? Is there inclusion? I appreciate anyone's two cents, thank you. My son will be in 4th grade by the way.

Guest guest
My son has a mood disorder and behavior problems and falls much more into that emotional disturbance group than autism. It has been very hard to find the right program for him anywhere. He can be agressive but not always, he has psychological and emotional needs that go beyond the standard behavior classroom and he doesnt fit in the autism classrooms. He needs a lot of emotional and psychological support. I am therefore wondering what these places are like that Broward has. I am also looking into if there are any private schools that would be therapeutic or like that. Do you know enough about the north and south center schools that you could comment on them or does anyone know of any more "therapeutic" type programs for kids with mental health issues? thank you broward schools Can anyone pls let me know what they think of Broward public school system if your child is in special ed or has supports? Guest guest
Ann Seigal is with Advocacy Center and has too many cases to take on mine as well. She says that I have a case but unfortunately she is unable to help me. I have called around and many want a fee for even a consult. I found one attorney in St sberg that would consult but he has never dealt with Broward county. I have the same issue with advocates as well and meetings usually go on and on resulting in a large hourly fee per meeting and my schools can never solve the problem in one meeting. Advocates are not familar with the "program" and because its a program they aren't bound by the same rules as schools. So to find an advocate that knows about the program and is familar with Broward is my problem and then the fees. We were out of the system for 18 months due to a medical crisis so it was a break that put me into a huge mess. Thank you for suggesting Legal Aid. I never heard of it but I did speak with Ann prior to finding Advocacy Center so maybe I did call there in my frantic state and not remember. I will search the number just as that and see what I come up with. I appreciate your reply. broward schools Can anyone pls let me know what they think of Broward public school system if your child is in special ed or has supports?
