Oh my gosh , you have now become my total inspiration!!!

Baby #3 didnt latch on until 6 weeks??? I hate to admit this, but I was getting

ready in my mind to not be able to breastfeed this little one. Ugh, why do I

have to always have trouble in this department? lol I hate to complain, but

it's just not natural to me, and obviously something I have to work extra hard

at.

I did call LLL the other day, (it was a recorded message with the names and #'s

of their leaders) and couldnt get ONE of them on the phone. I was SO engorged

and uncomfortable that I called the hospital so I could run out there and get a

pump. I will try them again, because if I have seen ANY successful

breastfeeding story, it is definately you being able to get a 6 week old to

breastfeed!

I would love to speak with you further about this, but dont really want to fill

up the board with one topic all the time, so if I could email you privately, or

you can email me, I would appreciate that!

My email addy is msmars@....

And yes, I have the Lanolin Cream, and I used it the first few days, until it

was no longer the cracked, sore nipples that hurt, but the HUGE BOOBS that I

just couldnt touch or lift lolol......sorry, that may have been too much info

there. Anyway, thanks SO much for posting, because heck, at the very least, it

gives me hope!

Marcy/soreness BFing

Marcy,

Have you tried any Lansinoh? It worked wonders on my cracked and bleeding

nipples with my first baby. I only needed it for a new days. It was wonderful

stuff!

Also, if you find a La Leche League leader in your area they can talk you

through things over the phone and the one I dealt with was extremely patient.

Nothing like the LC at the hospital, who was like yours (rushed). The LLL lady I

worked with was wonderful and talked me into continuing on w/my BFing attempts

and it was her support that eventually got me over the hump with baby #3, who

never latched onto my breast until the day she turned 6 weeks old.

Best of luck to you!
