Guest guest
Hi all. I wanted to share the Good News. 's neurosurgeon agreed that now is not the time for surgery for 's chiari malformation (scheduled for June 7th)as she's managed to stay asymptomatic. (Glory to God!) Many thanks to all who helped me learn and cope with this latest challenge. She's going to take the summer off from school after many years of 11 month school terms, and then will return to Perkins for her senior year. We have many things to do. She began meditating in March, and we want to strengthen and deepen that experience. And we need to spend time establishing new eating habits! Would we have ever dreamed that the little blond peanut would someday need a diet-LOL. Too many admonishions (?)to EAT! in her formative years, apparently. As she is going to remain on some movement restrictions, we'll try tai chi first as a means to improve her balance. (Kim-smiles). And I've been trying to think outside the box for career direction for her. As earnings are not necessarily an issue, I've been trying to think of craft type professions-pottery, stained glass-somthing like that, that she might like to persue-she's not interested in college right now(academic burn-out). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! We also saw Dr. Glaser in April, and he Rx'd certain herbs for her that are designed to strengthen and rejuvenate the nerves. I'm waiting till she's home from school to begin the herbs, but I will certainly report on their efficacy as we go along. Peace and love to you all, in Massachusetts
