Guest guest
When Ian wears his headphones, he takes out his aides. He uses the little ones that fit into his ears and loop over his ears, kind of like a BTE aide. I think this works for him because he has a conductive loss and volume is the solution for him. His aides are not programmed. As one audi explained to me at some, for Ian the solution is volume to push the sound past the damaged middle ear -- pure volume not adjusted/increased tones. He increases the volume of the diskman until he can hear it. Of course, that often means that I am sort'a listening to the music as well, since it is that loud.
