Georga Hackworth www.ubah.com/F1549 Enter to win $50 in FREE books! Jeff's bad luck OT Poor Jeff. Jeff has had a string of bad luck. The very end of October Jeff was punched in the face by a co worker who for some reason thought Jeff was out to get him. Bleech. Poor Jeff was just sitting down at his pc when the guy charged him and slugged him. It left a nasty black eye and cause his already very bad sinuses to be ripped out and so his eye was the size of a tennis ball for about a week. Then our roof blew off and then the tub got a hole, then the fense blew down and some more of the foor blew off. After those repairs the roof is blown off again. ugh! Then he gets a nasty infection in his throat. Oh and I forgot he was home sick 9 days in November and he never gets sick! So now what could top all of this? Jeff has Bells Palsy! Poor guy. He is miserable. he needs some good luck. Jacquie H

Guest guest
> excuse my ignorance - what is bell's palsy? michelle mg < it's when one side of your face droops. there are different causes. you can be born with it, it can be the result of an illness, which is probably jeff's case, it can be from a stroke, etc. basically it's a neurological thing that effects the muscles of the face. it can generally be alleviated with PT, altho it sometimes goes away as mysteriously as it appears. does that answer your question? It has only been a couple of days and already I feel like this will be the longer year of my life. Jeff is very upset with the whole thing. The way he looks, the way he feels, he cant eat, he cant drink, he cant talk, people look at him, blah, blah, blah. I dont mean to sound cold but he is driving me crazy! Guest guest
Jeff's is caused by the swelling along the cheek bone which caused the nerve to be pinched and so he has no feeling in one side of his face. oh, this was from an infection he had the week before that he decided to not take antibiotics for. I have to listen to that sad tale over and over and over....... Guest guest
I have to ask, could he just be doing the " man baby " thing and playing it up to get sympathy or is he really bothered? I mean, I know on bad days gets upset about it all but at the same time on good days he forgets he even has it. Georga

Guest guest
thanks gina! i just remembered reading your post - a girl in rowan's class had it and had surgery last year - one side of her mouth sort of drooped downward. michelle mg Re: Jeff's bad luck OT > excuse my ignorance - what is bell's palsy? michelle mg < it's when one side of your face droops. there are different causes. you can be born with it, it can be the result of an illness, which is probably jeff's case, it can be from a stroke, etc. basically it's a neurological thing that effects the muscles of the face. it can generally be alleviated with PT, altho it sometimes goes away as mysteriously as it appears. does that answer your question? Guest guest
> Hey! That's my line. LOL! > To this day, almost 11 years later, still calls me bitch because I would not take care of him and would make him get up for work when he had a hang over at the begining of our relationship. Hee hee. I also re-arranged furniture on him when I knew he was out drinking where he would fall over it when he came home. Yes, I have a mean streak. > LOL! Sounds like we need to compare notes. > A few years into our marriage, Mike screwed up. Really bad. It was the only time I've seriously contemplated divorce. Well, he wanted us to have a fight, have me yell at him, get it over with, you know? Only being the hateful, contrary person that I am, I didn't want to let him off the hook that easy. Sooo...over the course of about 3 months, I slowly removed every single wedding picture or memento from the shelves and walls. When he finally realized they were missing (no, he's not very observant) he was very hurt. I thought it was appropriate punishment. And on the few times he's drank too much, I woke the kids really early and sent them in to bounce on the bed. Then I cook something that smells very strong. > Tina *who has a mean streak too*
