Guest guest
Kate, What my buddy at Social Security replied.. wasn't quite in English.. LOL.. this is what he replied: 5 calendar mth waiting period so, onset date 01/02/06, waiting period 02-06/06, eligible 07/06 payable 0806. My interpretation of that.. if date of disability is January 2, 2006, five month waiting period.. would be from February 2, 2006 to June 2, 2006.. Eligible for benefits July 2, 2006 and those would be paid August 2006.. and thereafter.. accumulating to approval date.. and then paid in a lump sum.. Now that was for SSDI.. a person having worked enough quarters in their lifetime to draw early on what they would be drawing had they made it to retirement age and then started to draw.. SSI works differently.. that is a need based program, and comes out of different coffers for payment.. Ssi- onset date 01/02/06, 01/06 is the eligibility mth, get Medicaid, 02/06 payable and thereafter Onset of disability occurs January 2, 2006, person is eligible in January of 2006 and payments would start February 2006.. Medicaid would have started in January... It's all confusing... at least to me.. for right now.. hopefully I will get the job or A job that I applied for, with Social Security, and will learn all of this good stuff in the process of training for the job...
