Guest guest
I agree with , If I were you I would find a new Dr! Many peds pass off parents with kids with Plagio and you, as the parent, have to push to get a referral and/or a prescription for a helmet/band. Do you need a referral for your Insurance of can you self refer to a ped. neurosurgeon or a craniofacial specialist? We could self refer, so it wasn't an issue for my Daughter even though the ped wasn't as concerned as I was. It sounds as if your ped is not only passing you off, but also has no bedside manner, saying he is " funny looking " ! That's appauling! I'm sorry you are having such trouble. Hopefully you can find a new Dr and get the referral you need to go to a qualified Orthotist and get your Son banded. Good luck and keep us updated! Guest guest
Yeh, I'm going to switch peds asap. I'm asking friends for recommendations. He's made very condescending comments in the past and I past it off because I felt he was giving my son good care. Now I just think he's an a$$ and can't ignore it any longer. Unfortunately, I cannot self refer so I have to get a doctor to refer me. I so much appreciate everyone's help. I had no idea where to begin and now I feel SO much better. :-) Manon --- Jen <ronandjenvelez@...> wrote: > I agree with , If I were you I would find a new > Dr! Guest guest
OMG! How insensitive of your ped! By chance do you have PPO insurance because then you don't need a referral to see a specialist. I see that others have already given you other helpful advice. What area do you live? Maybe another member lives near you and can offer advice. Guest guest
I live in the Baltimore area. Yes, my ped is indeed an idiot. I do not have PPO insurance so it'll take a while to go through the channels but it'll be worth it. I wish i had this group months ago when I realized my son had a problem. I could have tried the whole repo thing first. I'm just happy to have this group now..... :-) Manon --- Natasha Gubash <ngubash@...> wrote: > OMG! How insensitive of your ped! Guest guest
Hi Manon, I think you're best bet would be to find a new pediatrician. You're paying your ped to provide you w/a service, you're obviously not happy with the service he is providing you. Where are you located? Maybe someone here can direct you to a plagio educated pediatrician. > I just joined this group in order to get some help and advise. > Through research and comments from strangers, I've self diagnosed my 7 > month old son with plagio.
