Thanks . I know it is mentioned in a lot of natural health

books, the trouble is the medical professionals will not take it

seriously unless there is 'scientific proof' and until there is, the

companies making products will go along with what legislation

requires - it sucks all round!

This is another reason why it is SO important to get this trial

completed in the UK. Even with all the research etc that our

American friends have done, the books that have been published, that

we all have - doctors STILL say there is not ENOUGH scientific

evidence it works and although it will work for some children, drugs

are the better option, blah, blah, blah - so much so, that our

doctors hardly know about it, if they do - they dismiss it and half

the time they get the facts wrong as well, and we only have a few

dieticians that have been trained or are willing to do the ketogenic

diet.

I'm sorry if I'm clumping all doctors in together here, I know there

are some out there that do know about it and are willing to refer

their patients but they are few and far between. I have taken

into hospital a couple of times (not related to seizures I

hasten to add or the diet)and he has been seen by Registrars and

SHO's, nurses etc and when I've said he's on the ketogenic diet, the

response has been 'the what diet?' - didn't have a clue. I'm telling

them what IV to use - how mad is that? - Anyway, I can feel my

soapbox coming out! Must go before I go into a rant!

Take Care.
