The reason we started on pureed food was purely because I did not

think it was " natural " for him to be on fortified formula for so long.

Surely other small babies weren't, so I decided to try it.

The whole process went exceedingly well for us (barring a few allergic

reactions). The addition of pureed foods made the feedings heavier and

seemed to help his reflux. The density of it seemed to fill him is a less

bloating manner and he seemed sturdier and healthier on the mixed foods. His

grandmother was certain his cheeks were more rosy now that he had beef i n

his diet :o)

Mostly I used Gerber baby foods and blended them with fortified formula (30

calories to the ounce). Note: Pears foam up and become frothy and don't

gravity feed well. :o)
