Guest guest
O Bette...I am so happy to hear you like that cake. We really like it too. Because of the fiber in the cake I count 1 1/12 of the cake as 3 points. And I think 1 1/12th of the cherries did add 1/2 point. I like the Betty Crocker mixes too. Enjoy..and if I find others I will post them... Sharon Jesus is the only way to the Father... Hey Sharon - I made your chocolate cake this afternoon for a low-points birthday celebration, and it turned out fabulous! I'm thrilled with it! I used Betty Crocker's Supermoist Devil's Food mix, because that had the lowest points (at 3.25 per 1/12 cake) and I prefer BC over Pillsbury or Duncan Hines. You mentioned chopping up your cherries a bit and I decided to take that a step further, because I knew my children would not be happy with cherry chunks in their chocolate, so I pureed it in the food processor. I added the 2 egg whites and baked at 350 for 35-40 minutes. It was fluffy and delicious. I calculated the can of pie filling at 7 1/2 points so 1/12th of that is .6.
