Guest guest
Hi Jarad; If you are concerned about the alcohol content of this product, it might be best to purchase alcohol-free milk thistle extract. Best regards, Dave (father of (20); PSC 07/03; UC 08/03)
Guest guest
Hi Dave, Thanks for the info. Yes I was curious what other people were taking. I got very little feedback from anyone besides yourself and Arne. So I'm more " asking " what does everyone else do, as well as fish out any " red flags " that I shouldn't be doing. I saw an herbalist and she asked me the question " do you know if the alcohol in the milk thistle extract has a negative effect on your liver? " I wasn't 100% sure so I posed the question here on the only site I could think to find the answer. I still don't really know. Do you have any idea? Thank you, Jarad > > Hi Jarad; > > If you are concerned about the alcohol content of this product, it > might be best to purchase alcohol-free milk thistle extract. > > Best regards, > > Dave > (father of (20); PSC 07/03; UC 08/03) >

Guest guest
....I saw an herbalist and she asked me the question " do you know if the alcohol in the milk thistle extract has a negative effect on your liver? " A thought (or two..) I read a study that did not show a positive benefit from milk thistle on liver disease - sorry, but can't remember the citation. Another study was very clear that No Alcohol intake was a positive factor in outcomes for those who have Hepatitis C. My belief, for what little it's worth, is avoidance of alcohol with any liver problem cannot be harmful! Joanne (, Ca)

Guest guest
Thank you Dave! That is crazy about the study though I thought the extract would help, but as I've been taking it, it seems my disease has progressed. It is not the only thing I changed, I was also on some psych meds for depression, which really did a doosie on my liver. I noticed the effects THE SAME DAY! I took Prozac. My liver totally bugged out. I also tried Neurontin and that also seemed to build up a toxicity in my system. Now I'm drug free, except for immodium and other herbs/extracts. And I've been eating really well! " This too shall pass " Thanks again for the info! Sincerely, Jarad PS: I did some polls so we'll see if anything comes of it.... > ...I saw an herbalist and she asked me the question " do you know if > the alcohol in the milk thistle extract has a negative effect on your > liver?
