Guest guest
I think that you have to just go with your own gut on this one. Brachy is hard to completely resolve. Would you like to post some recent pictures for us to see? Natasha > > At our adjustment this morning I was informed by CT that Nicolas is > in the last month of his initial Doc Band. Guest guest
Hi Lynette, For some reason I can't see pictures tonight; keep getting error messages and advertisements (no problem seeing those!) but if you want some help with Hubby, I was told that growth does NOT grow toward normal. Growth is proportional - it'll grow the same amount in all directions if you don't push the growth one way. Makes sense when you think about it..... Now I'm getting scared that I spent all this money to get a DOC band for my Brachy baby and I'm flying down to San Diego for the adjustments and that it might not be good enough. How severe did he start out and where is he now? Are you happy with the progress and just want more? Or are you not even happy with the progress? Guest guest
Lynette, I *totally* understand your dilemma! Our son had severe brachy like . We decided not to get a 2nd band. He wore it from 9-12 mos. of age. My son's growth *really* slowed down so we didn't think there would be much benefit to continuing on (we could've been wrong but decided that he looked much better and specialists agreed to stop too). He is now 18 mos. old and I have no regrets about NOT doing a 2nd band. HOWEVER, someone else may have had a different opinion. The thing is he is your child and you have to follow your instincts. A good fitting band can only help improve the headshape and not make it worse. You have to factor everything in; it's OK to think about financial too but I know what you mean about it not being the primary issue. GOOD LUCK. Sue Colin F., 18 mos. Guest guest
P.S. If this helps you at all, my son's pre- and post-STARband photos are in his file Before & After/STARband/Colin F. The latest are from when he was 16 or 17 mos. old... Sue Colin F., 18 mos. Guest guest
Lynette, Monika is correct. Without the redirection his head shape will most likely stay the same. With a 2nd band you may get more length and rounding in the back while holding the width. Monika - Don't get discouraged. You may not get 100% correction but no one is perfect. mom to na DOC Grad South Carolina www.thefilyaw.commonikawithak2005 <monikawithak@...> wrote: Hi Lynette,For some reason I can't see pictures tonight; keep getting error messages and advertisements (no problem seeing those!) but if you want some help with Hubby, I was told that growth does NOT grow toward normal. Guest guest
Sue, Colin is such a cutie! What a happy smile he has. I recognize the " before " headshape -- you had great results. What do you think was your main reason for declining a second band? Lynette > > > > At our adjustment this morning I was informed by CT that Nicolas is > > in the last month of his initial Doc Band.
