Guest guest
Kai has an appointment this Friday with Dr. Mosca here in town (thank goodness!). Dr Mosca is only in town here 2x a year, and we were very lucky for a cancellation so that we could get Kai in. I hate to say it, expecially since we have used the DBB just as we should, but his foot looks bad. The 000 shoes is way too big, and even tho I have padded it with moleskin, things have gone badly. The sole crease is deepening and the ankle crease is returning, and while he has no problem with the 70 degree rotation, out of the DBB for a few mins his foot is wanting to turn back in and drop at the toe. In a relaxed state it now looks like my daughter's positional clubfoot did. He also had a rigid bump across his heel near the site of the tenotomy. This makes me so sad. I hope it can be easily fixed. Kai has gotten used to the DBB and doesnt complain about it at all except for when it is being put on. He has even began lifting his legs up as if he were going to roll. I dont know how it will go if he needs more casting. And if that is the case, I dont know how we can possibly afford more trips to Seattle. Between our two insurances, there is no medical cost, but the trips cost around $75-$100 a piece. I guess I am worrying too much before the fact, but I cant help it. All through, none of this has bothered me. The clubfoot was a nothing to me, and the casts were a small inconvenience, as is the DBB, but THIS ... I cant help but wonder if I could have done more to prevent it. Anyway, hope for the best for little Kai's foot for us. I will let you all know how things go friday. Angel and Kai
