I've read about the thyroid online, but what about neck pain? I haven't noticed any until my doctor probed around a few weeks back on my neck.

Now my neck hurts to the touch and when I shave using presure.

I also have been having some shoulder pain, but thats not a new symptom, it just got worse lately again. like a pinching feeling.

And the whole side of my neck isn't swollen up real big or anything, just sensitive when pushed on and hurts. Shouldu I call my doctor or just wait to the visit?

I stopped excercising for 3 weeks at my upped dose of thyroid med and noticed my thyroid symptoms coming back pretty hard, but when I excercise as I did yesterday it worked out fine, with really almost no symptoms.

I didn't mean to respond to myself but left one thing out. My molar hurts on that side also, like the nerve pain thingie. Maybe its a tooth? I just had x-rays' not long ago and I think they would've said something, but ..

They are pretty negligent those doctors sometimes.

it's probably related to your thyroid... after my doc probes i get sore to. you may want to tell them about it and they'll either say yes it's your thyroid or no it's not. i'm quite certain mine is but yet my doc says it has nothing to do with my symptoms, eventhough i notice it stops and isn't so bad when my meds are upped.

it could be that your thyroid got kind of inflamed and pushed on a nerve. sucks when it happens but i'm sure it can. i take enough thyroid hormone to feel constantly good. that means i sometimes take more than my doc would like me to, but it keeps my labs looking good and me healthy. Of course I don't recommend that for everyone. i hope you feel better :).

I wonder if there is something with the tooth.. that could affect the neck and shoulder on that side as well... are you running a fever or feel more tired than usual?

How did your last labs look? How are your thyroid symptoms.. better, worse....?

I think, just my opinion, that quite a few of the aches and pains and injuries that we have to deal with day to day have a lot to do with our bodies not being able to work properly. If they can't do their job, how can they fix things that need fixin?

There is sooo much controversy with that... if the thyroid levels are low, that means the metabolic rate is low.. that means that the body can't produce heat/fever to kill of 'bugs' it can't get the blood flowing in a proper volume to nourish and clean out infected tissue.... we just can't heal right and things that progress to worse... Add bad sleep to that and the body not being able to reach the deep level of sleep that allows it to heal and repair..and things compound...

I just don't get it.... I'm not a doc, I'm not a scientist... How come this is so white chalk on the blackboard clear to me and not to them????

Or is it all money...? As long as we're not well, we are a money fountain for them....

arggh.... reigning back the attitude.... hehehehee

If you go onto Dr. Lowe's site, he has a comparison in there somewhere to

rigor mortis setting in and says that it IS actually rigor mortis, because a

dead body gets stiff on acct of the body temp being nonexistent. Well,

that's what we're like, in a sub-rigor mortis state because the muscles

aren't being warmed properly, that is, when we are still hypo. That's why

the muscles are rigid and hurting, on acct of low body temp in different

places. And I firmly believe that if it goes on and on for yrs that there

will be permanent damage to us in our old age or sooner. Some things get

destroyed and can't be revived ya know, and this is what has both eyes

blazing at these irresponsible doctors. Immagine affecting someone the rest

of their lives, on acct of you don't know what you're doing or have too much

ego to read, study, and listen.

Would a valid test for that be warming the area? Like throwing a towel over it, around the neck, what ever the part is? That would help to hold a gentle heat, bringing up that isolated area a bit and see if oh.... by the end of the day you find that area to be more limber/less stiff/less pained????

Hey. Neck pain is gone today. No problems. I really was thinking about what said about the medicine must just take a lot of time between dosage changes to work.

Well for me, from .25 to .50 it was like 2-3 days, then from .50 to .125 it was like 'I'm still in that phase' , as for rigormortis, heh. Thats too funny.

I feel very alive, but the burning isn't diabetes, I know that much, it is actually a symptom posted on the wall at the endo's orifice.

Maybe not burning, but tingling, I used to get that. I don't think its death early setting in, personally, but I do think it warrants much more attention to be given by doctors. They don't seem to care, and the premiums just keep going up and up.

Thanks for your response.

, I did use a massager (hand held) -- {stole it from my 10yo since it was misused :-)p } and it worked, and used heat from the hot water in the shower. Its not cured, but it is better and not burning as bad.

Speaking of heat I make my own heating pad and they are ot electrical and I know everyone has seen or heard of them but I love then cause they conform to almost any spot and hold the heat for quit sometime. I was the white was and when I have a sock without a partner it becomes a heating pad. I buy a big box of minute rice and empty it into the sock tie the end shut and when I need it put it in the micro for about 1 to 2 minutes and oh boy does it feek good when it comes out very handy litttle things and easy to make.
