Guest guest
I have noticed something interesting... I have asthma triggered by allergies sometimes eventhough it is exercise induced. I noticed that if I eat candied ginger when ever I feel my chest get tight, it makes it go away. Also the type of mask you want is one with a respirator. Walmart sells them in the paint area... it's white and it'll have this little circular thing in the middle of it where your mouth would be. Those I have found are great. If you don't find them there, look at a place like home depot and they will for sure have them. With the windex this happens because you breathe in the air born particles. If you don't breathe them in you won't cough as much. Something you can also try to clean your windows is vinegar and water. I switched over to that and don't have many problems. I barely use harsh chemicals anymore due to the sensitivities that my husband, myself, and my pets all have. (of course I would have cats with allergies to you know lol). Something else I will recommend is going to a natural foods or international foods store where they sell many natural and organic products and you'll find several cleaning supplies that will not bother you. They use things like grapefruit extract and what not (which is a natural antibacterial agent). Another thing you can use to clean, it's called A33 dry. It is used in hospitals and will kill anything including HIV to let you know how strong it is. However, it does not smell. It comes in dissolvable packet form and you can get a tub of them for about $20 and we've had it for months and it works great! It also creates a barrier against bacteria for about a month I think. Something I've also noticed about myself is that when I have bad allergic reactions that give me fibro/cfs symptoms, my heart will ache a bit. I'm suspecting this is because of the reaction muscles have when exposed to allergens before the adrenals kick in and as we know the heart is one big muscle. It does freak me out though sometimes to have it ache a bit when beating.... then it goes away. Since I've avoided my allergens (except for last night... I had cheese) it has stopped. That is how I know it's an inflamatory response. I also recommend switching all of the air filters in your home to the hypo allergenic ones with baking soda. They are white and I forget who makes them but they have such a good filtration system they limit things like bacteria and spores. Also invest in an air purifier as well. If you know the causes of why you are having an allergic reaction then you will know what to avoid and work around. I don't use inhalers anymore although I would like to have one on standby. I'm not sure why the crystalized ginger works for me. I really have no clue... it's like eating a dehydrated lemon that was soaked in pinesol as far as taste, although some people (including my weird tasting food phobic husband like it) it might help you. You can also buy it in bulk or individually at the same stores that carry the natural cleaning products. Use anything you can mix into a paste to work. Anything that isn't strictly dry. A good dissolving agent is vinegar and baking soda. Works great! Borax mixed with water is a good one also (for those of you that suffer from candida imbalance, your pharmacist can make borax suppositories to use to regulate the ph... weird but I hear it works). Good luck, Face Masks? I am suffering from Asthma and Allergies. I am taking medication for it but when I dust, vacuum or use a windex or spray I go into a spastic cough. My daughter is getting married in 35 days and I am trying to get the house in order. Does anyone know where I can get a mask to help with my allergies? I have only asked at Sprouts and they do not carry them. Also I know nothing about Asthma and really do not want to be on all these meds for a long time. I am on two inhalers, singulair and Flonase. Any input anyone? Thanks, nne
