Guest guest
Dear , Hello. This is Shoshannah, and I would like to congratulate you. You have lost so much weight, and you are having a healthy baby! Why is it that the doctors tell us not to become pregnant for at least one year post-op? Have there been tragedies with women getting pregnant (too soon after their gastric bypasses) in the past? Are you one of the lucky ones who is doing great anyway? My doctor did not even want me to try to get pregnant after one year post-op even though I went from 290 to 168 at 5' 10 " tall. He had the nerve to tell me to lose another ten or twenty lbs over the next six months and then start trying. I told him because of my advanced age it could take me awhile to get pregnant. I am 41 now. I was 40 then. So he said " okay " after I begged him. You know what? It took me seven months after that to get pregnant. I am now a little over three months along. AND, I never lost another pound during those seven months. Therefore, even if I had NOT been trying to get pregnant, that would have been a royal waste of time since I did not lose any more weight. I think he was wrong to encourage me to be " model thin. " I will show you what I looked like at 168 lbs. Weight For Life Anyway, I am so happy for you that you lost all that weight and are having a healthy baby! Take care, Shoshannah
