Guest guest
> , Thanks. It was a lot of fun and such a beautiful day! Well except for the poor moose. I forgot to mention that didn't I? Well they said before the race started that there was a moose on the trail but it was being taken care of. I guess the moose didn't want to move and was charging people so the police shot it! Right as I was going by the poor moose's legs were sticking up and they were getting ready to gut it. One good thing comes from it, the meat goes to charity. They have a list of families to call when a moose gets killed so we know it will be going to good use. Only in Alaska, I swear! About the time.. the winning time was 28 min 17 sec!!! It was Liz a former Olympian here visiting on business. makes mine sound kind of slow now doesn't it? LOL Seriously, I have been walking mostly on the treadmill for the better part of 3 years now When I first started I could barely go 3.0 mph. I worked up gradually and can comfortably go 3.8-4.1 now. I was jogging as much as 5.5 mph last year but it was killing my knees, hips and ankles so now only jog at 4.4-4.8 and only for a few min at a time. The thing is doing it! Just getting regular activity and putting forth the effort. My goal is to be able to get up to 6.0 mph eventually but have to lose at least 20 more lbs before I even attempt to go over 5.0 mph again. It's not worth hurting yourself for! I learned that the hard way. Gena > > Anyway, times, last year was like 74 min 44 > > sec. (5 miles). This year 76 min 13 sec. I was saying if I got under > > 80 min I would be happy and I did so YEAH!!! > > Good for you!!!!!! Hey, that's not even 2 minutes less- still great! > I am > thinking 5 miles would take me the better part of a day... > > >
