Horrible Morning Sickness

Hi all...

I am 15 weeks pregnant and have been really sick since about 5 weeks.

I haven't been able to hold any food down, nor vitamins at all during

this period. My OBGYN assures me that my baby will take the

nutrients it needs from my body and that it won't be in jeapordy from

my lack of eating.

I just wondered what your thoughts were. How long can I go without

food before the baby is affected ? They tell me the morning sickness

should end soon and I can resume eating, but as of today, I am still

nauseaus.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I know how you feel. I am 12 weeks PG and was suffering from

horrible hyeremesis. I was rehydrated in the hospital once. My doc

put me on Zofran to stop the vomiting. It took about 4 days to kick

in, but it does work. I'm still taking it (its been about a month

now). Definately talk to your doc about that. Mine also said not to

worry just yet about not being able to eat, but it will become more

important into the second trimester. But, I totally feel for you.

It can really put a damper on your pregnancy (especially because I

didnt have much morning sickness with my first). Hang in there and

ask your doc right away.
