Guest guest
ckouza1, Welcome to the group. We are very close in age. I am 33…I will say that a lot until my upcoming birthday in September. Lol There is a lot of information and resources on this group if you chose to educate yourself you did come to the right place. The people here are like family too. What were you dentist’s recommendations? Are you on any immunosuppressive therapy? Sometimes that can cause gum overgrowth. I also picked up a Water-Pik and a Sonicare and those have helped. I think I was told mine was irreversible, but I did reverse mine with the help of those two tools. Blessings, Mom of Zoe (13) My very normal (teenager normal) soccer player; Noah (8) Indeterminate colitis, PSC, Osteopenia (1-4 lumbar vertebrae); Aidan (4 1/2) Moderately-severe SNHL bilaterally Recycle Yourself Become an Organ Donor I'm a newbie here. I was diagnosed with PSC a little over ten years ago. The diagnosis also included moderate UC and Gilbert's syndrome. I'm 31, and admittedly somewhat ignorant about my condition. This ignorance is probably a byproduct of the fact that I've had relatively few symptoms, especially over the past few years. So, I'm sure I have more questions than answers here. In addition to joining this group, I've also requested to join the Mayo and UC studies. Lineage: My paternal grandparent's were Greek and/or Macedonian; my maternal grandmother is Italian and grandfather is Puerto Rican. My mom has been quite prolific in her genealogical data collection, but I've never reviewed her findings in a genetic context. My mom's cousin (100% Italian) has Crohn's. I have a very low-fat diet (pain avoidance). I'm taking one Colazal pill, once a day. One rounded teaspoon of psyllium a day. One saw palmetto pill a day (not sure of the dosage ... I'm taking it for male pattern baldness ... I know it's probably useless, certainly unproven, possibly anticoagulant? ... I'm not even taking the full dose, which is two pills.) As you've probably already determined, I'm not the best patient. I know I've tested my doctor's resourcefulness and creativity. I haven't seen my doctor (Cedar Sinai) in probably two years ... although he's seen my blood. Everything's normal. Recently, I've developed periodontitis ... I've been advised by one of my dentists that I must maintain impeccable oral hygiene due to my " systemic inflammation " . I'll stop here.
